2.      Microphones

The in-built microphone on our camera will work all right for home use. But here we are intended to reach semi-professional level; we have to buy some smart microphones for better quality sound. Basically there are three types of microphones available in video industry. Shotgun microphones are good for pinpointing the exact audio under noisy backgrounds. Also there is tiny little microphones call Clip-on (Lapel) Microphones. These are great for capturing consistent audio levels. Handheld microphones are easy to use and wireless types are available in market.

3.     A Player/ Recorder

Player recorder is useful for play back and record video again and again.  Though there are facilities in our camera to play back, it’s not a good practice to use all the time. Camera is used for only record not to play back. Otherwise it may reduce the life   time of the camera. I/O ports should be compatible with other components.

4.     Video editing softwares

Type of the video editing software depends on the complexity of our digital video production. Free software like iMovie and Movie Maker old versions can be used for simple editing purposes. Open source video editors like LiVES, Open Movie Editor and Avidemux are also available. Sometimes it will be better to move commercial tools like Adobe Premiere, Corel Video Studio and Pinnacle Studio for advance video productions. Also we have to consider about ethics and it’s not a good manner to use pirate copies anymore when we are at professional level.

5.     Video editing  Computer

Though we can use either desktop or a laptop computer for video editing, there are some advantages of using a desktop computer. Anytime it has an ability to extend its features and component. As an example video graphic adapter, RAM and hard disk matter a lot in video editing processes. Therefore desktop computer may good at time. Also we have to run heavy video, graphic and music software s like Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Flash, and After Effect etc... Therefore computer speed and performance should be on a recommended standard.  Considering our budget as well as semi-professional level, we can reserve one Lac for a desktop with a core i3 /i5 processor, dual core/ quad core, 8 GB RAM, 1T HDD and a high quality Video Graphic Adapter.
